With the many spots I  frequent on in the internet, this sad, sad blog gets constantly neglected. Here's a few things going on with me lately.

I finally made myself a little website. It's a work in progress but it's finally up!

I spend a lot of time on Instagram these days (hence alllllll the cellphone pics). Here's a picture of me from Halloween I posted on there a while back.

And here's Mike from Halloween too for good measure. What a guy :)

Ollie keeps getting bigger and bigger. She is still a small girl but definitely a teen dog now.  And still a crazy (but loveable) dog.

Work is Falconwright all the time!! Sandi and I are busybusy with the holiday season and I couldn't be happier. If you're ever wondering what I'm up to most of the time, check out the Falconwright blog because that gets so much more love these days then this place.

On my off time from Falconwright I am tinkering away on some jewelry ideas.  The pics above are some of the things I'm working on and me in my beautiful safety gear.

Summer show and tell:

I got a bike!
Mike's mom gave me her bike to ride around the city- she got it 52 years ago and she's a beaut. I wish I had bought a bike sooner.

I got a studio!
Sandi and I finally stopped working out of our homes and got our own workspace. It's perfect in every way. We are putting the final touches on Falconwright's fall collection and I am PUMPED.

 I got a puppy!
Here's my new dog Ollie (right) pictured here with her bro Bugsy who was adopted by my brother Wes. She is a maniac but a loveable one.

I killed almost every plant I grew!
Seriously. If you read this space last summer you would have seen I was all about gardening. This year is the year of neglect- I have killed herbs, cactii, succulents; the casualty list goes on and on... I did get about 12 baby tomatoes from our pots on our porch. Meh. I'll try harder next year.

I went on vacation!
Not a far away one but spent some time in the Georgian Bay area where I grew up, chilling on some beaches with Mike. We both got big time sunburns.

And I got engaged!
After almost 8 years of being together Mike and I are tying the knot!! Getting married was one of those things we've always wanted to do (because weddings are FUN) but never got around to doing it (money, time, blahblah). I didn't think getting engaged would change anything but have to admit I'm more excited about the future and even more appreciative of the wonderful guy I have in my life.

Lately:

I keep buying cheap and cheerful bundles of flowers for our house. These guys are in my Blue Mountain Pottery vase- a now defunct company that made things in my home town.

Got my fave shoes repaired so they can last another summer beating.  This is my 3rd pair I've had fixed at Sole Survivor. Her business is awesome and her story is inspiring.

Ontario strawberry season. Yessssssssssss.

New use for leather bracelets made by Mike: sexy curtains ties.

And on the subject of hot leather, we got a couple new leather colours in the Falconwright shop. Gotta love that purple.

Tidying up my workspace this morning I came across old sketch books I haven't looked at in ages (why do I have 15 of them?!?!). Over a year ago I had a new year's resolution to doodle something once a day for the whole year- the rule was nothing serious, just goofy doodles and drawings. I only made it to March (of course) and ended up mostly with pages and pages of hands, bunnies and skulls. I think I should try it again. Doodling is good for the soul.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who checked out the Falconwright update last week! You guys are the best!

Just a quick check in here to tell you that Sandi and I have a new summer update in the Falconwright shop today!  We have lots of new items and I'm really excited about the new styles- my favourite print (and also snack) is party mix :) Check 'em out here!

More recentish (and random) things:

Mike had another birthday a couple weeks back. He's big into comics so on his birthday we finally got ourselves over to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. I don't consider myself a big graphic novel gal but honestly TCAF was awesome and you should go next year. I will be too. Among the goodies we bought at the show was this diamond pin from Ginette Lapomme and the crazy cool comic By This You Shall Know Him from Jesse Jacobs.

I've been spending so much time with this girl lately. This Juki that Sandi and I bought for Falconwright has been the best thing ever. I love her so very much. We have a new collection on the horizon and it's gonna be a good one.

You know when you make something new and then all you ever want to eat again is that thing? Well here's that new thing for you: Homemade. Tortillas. My mom nagged me to make them and I didn't forever but finally did. Guys- so easy.

Here is my super quick recipe:
* Get: 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp butter, 1/2 cup water
* Mix dry stuff; finely chop butter in dry stuff; Mix in about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water until it becomes doughy (add more flour if too sticky); roll up into large jet ball sized lumps and roll out on floured surface (thicker turns out kind of like naan bread, thinner is more like a tortilla wrap)
* Fry in hot dry pan until they get puffed up bubbles and get brown on one side, flip and they're done
* Eat forever with anything and everything.

Planted herbs finally. No large garden endeavor for us this year, just a few planter boxes on our porch with edibles for summer cooking.

And just because I'm in love with them, these are my new summer sandals! Oh yeah.
